Bagpipes and Golf: a Time-Honored Tradition
Golfing and bagpipes are a perfect pairing. From their Scottish roots to the present day, there has always been a deep connection between the music of the bagpipes with the game of golf.
Many golf clubs have embraced this connection whether by having a bagpiper play a sunset performance to close out the day or on retainer to play for club functions and fundraisers. One famous example being the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay in Half Moon Bay, California, which has featured a daily sunset bagpipe performance since 2001.
Piper Jonas has also played at several Golf and Country Clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area, including The Golf Club at Boulder Ridge, Menlo Country Club, La Rinconada Country Club, The Peninsula Golf & Country Club, and the Nicklaus Club in Monterey, CA.
Bagpipe performances can include: sunset performances, fundraisers and golf tournaments, member cocktail hours and parties, onsite wedding ceremonies and receptions.
